Colours and their Significance

Colours plays an important role in everybodys' life that as far as english is concerned, colour symbolism has become a part of the language.
In english we use phrases such as " Green with envy", "Pink of health" , "feeling Blue" etc.,




Ladies wear lot of Pink and Purple coloured Dresses, whereas if men wear the same, they will be looked in a different way. Pink and Purple were said to be a Girly Colour. Even while choosing Blog templates, the Girls choose something which is Glittery and pinky. :) :) :)



Business World also makes use of the colour language - as stocks in the down are termed as "in the red" and "in the black" refers to company doing good.

Colours are used to convey message, not only at the individual level, but also at the level of community and nation. Hindu Clergy wear saffron, Christian Mourners wear black etc.,

Colours have significant psychological effect. for Instance, light colours have soothing effect on people white Colour excites and dark colours depress.

But i feel Black being dark is being considered Majestic and Attractive. Black cars used by Rich people for example.

In US a Classroom was painted red,it was found that misbehaviour among students had increased.


Colors also only inform us about people and also affect the behaviour of human beings. In my Management course, i have read about the Colours Psychology and

Yellow
Positive Message - Intuition,Wisdom,Divinity
Negative Message -- Cowardice,Malevolence,Impure Love

Green
Positive Message - Nature,Hope,Freshness,Prosperity
Negative Message - Envy,Jealousy,Opposition,Disgrace

Purple
Positive Message - Power,Royalty,Love of Truth,Nostalgia
Negative Message - Mourning,Regret,Penitence,Resignation
